The L.A. Ladies

"It's like paradise with a lobotomy.” —Neil Simon

I love L.A., I really do. I've lived here for almost half my life now and it's always interesting. Home at its best. Fickle at its worst. I originally wrote and shot The L.A. Ladies as a print piece that was featured in a zine by Highland Park coffeehouse, Civil Coffee. My goal was to illustrate different perspectives of L.A. through several fictional narratives. I photographed and interviewed mannequins I found around the city to represent the unique personalities who call these palm-lined streets home.

The amazing Tim Deasy designed and coded a website so that the ladies could reach more eyes and live forever. We got picked up and featured on several design sites including CSS-LightOne Page LoveAwwwardsUpLab, and Brutalist Websites.
